While I’d rather be penning features for print or the Web for such publications as The Guide Istanbul or PlanetEye.com,  I’ve done my time in the trenches covering breaking news. As the go-to reporter for a small daily in Southern California’s Mojave Desert, I’ve covered snow in the desert,  a budding local charter movement vs. an established school district that set a state precedent in 2003, visiting national politicians, as well as being part of a very dedicated, albeit small – four, including two editors! – news team, which was one of the very first to report on the findings of the controversial Base Realignment

And Closures Act of 2005 thanks to serendipity and awesome connections.
